About Family and Consumer Sciences
The Family and Consumer Sciences program provides educational opportunities in the subject matter areas of child development, parenting, recognizing child abuse and neglect, budgeting, money management and other areas of home and family life, nutrition, and food safety. Ohio State University Extension understands that as family life changes, so do the needs of their clients. We are primarily an education agency bringing the research of the Ohio State University to people throughout the states. Family and Consumer Sciences departments throughout the state have narrowed their focus somewhat to include education in nutrition, food safety, family life issues and money management.
