    Must be registered at the Extension office by calling 440-834-4656. As an alternative to participating in the mandated annual quality assurance training, Geauga County Junior Fair food animal project exhibitors ages 12-14 and 15-18 may elect to take a Quality Assurance test in their primary project area. This test is administered by and under the supervision of Ohio State University Extension. Those who pass the test will be exempt from annual quality assurance re-certification until they move into the next age bracket or are no longer a Geauga County Junior Fair feed exhibitor.

    CANCELLED - Every year your garden has a problem or two, but problems vary from year to year and garden to garden.  You might have an insect problem one year while your neighbor is dealing with powdery mildew.  The next year your garden might be pest free.  Why such inconsistencies?  Learn how to anticipate which problems your garden will have and what to do.  $15pp

    Erik Draper, Horticulture Extension Educator and the "Ole Sage Crew" will be "cutting loose" on pruning techniques.  This will be a hands-on, get yourself dirty, workshop!  We will prune peach and apple trees, and small fruits like blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, and grapes.  Bring your own pruners, loppers or saws and dress for the weather.  Participation is expected and is a big part of the learn-as-you-lop-it fun!  To register, or if you have any questions, please call the Extension office at 440-834-4656.     The 4-H Advisory Committee challenges clubs to work together and show Geauga County what 4-H has to offier!  Clubs are invited to create an educational display with posters, pictures, three-dimensional materials.

    Saturday, March 5, 2016 from 9am - 12noon at Geauga Park District Swine Creek Reservation Lodge, 16004 Hayes Road, Middlefield, OH 44062.  This program is FREE!  Beginners and experienced producers wishing to hone sugaring skills will learn everything from tree identification and sugar bush management to producing the finished product.  For more information and to register call the OSU Extension Office Geauga County at 440-834-4656.  Please register by February 24th.  Fully wheelchair/stroller accessible.
